Superior Image

High image quality is vital for effective surveillance. With a number of innovative features made possible by Panasonic’s advanced technology, engineering and manufacturing expertise, i-Pro offers Superior Image for accurate identification.

Megapixel

High Image quality is vital to all surveillance cameras. The i-Pro megapixel network cameras are equipped with a progressive scan 1.3 million pixels CCD and proprietary DSP that delivers outstanding image quality. The image is so detailed that it allows operators to identify subjects on a whole new level when compared to existing analog TV standard systems. Alternatively it can capture an area four times larger while maintaining the same image quality of conventional cameras.

Progressive Video Output

Interlaced video produced by an interline transfer CCD has motion blur and tearing problems. This is caused by the timing difference between odd fields and even fields, which gives the image a jagged appearance. This has been a particular problem with conventional surveillance cameras. The i-Pro network cameras provide progressive video output by using a progressive scan CCD or Motion Adaptive Interlace-Progressive conversion, * ensuring clear images with less motion blur and no tearing even when the subject is moving.

*Progressive scan CCD: WV-NF302, WV-NP304, WV-NP1000 Series, WV-NP240 Series, WV-NF284 Motion Adaptive Interlace-Progressive conversion: WV-NW484S, WV-NS202A, WV-NS950 Series, WV-NW960 Series

Adaptive Black Stretch

ABS (Adaptive Black Stretch) increases visibility of subjects in dark areas without degrading image quality in bright areas by analyzing the “illumination map/signal level distribution? and adjusting gamma correction for each area separately.

  • Applicable models: WV-NF302, WV-NP304

Super Dynamic III

When there is a high contrast between dark and bright areas, it is difficult to reproduce an image satisfying both dark and bright areas. Dark areas disappear if the camera sets its iris to capture the bright areas. Conversely, if the iris is adjusted to the dark areas, bright areas will be washed out. This has been a particular problem with conventional surveillance cameras. Super Dynamic III uses a double speed CCD and a proprietary DSP including Area Free (Pixel-Based) Natural Contrast Image Correction to optimize contrast and faithfully reproduce objects in every area and every level of brightness. Pixel-Based Super Dynamic III delivers smoother natural reproduction regardless of position, size, shape or number of bright/dark areas.

High Sensitivity

All i-Pro network cameras combine high sensitivity design and electronic sensitivity enhancement functions, enabling them to capture color images even when the lighting is dim. If the situation is too dark, the Day/Night Switching feature * automatically switches the camera from color to B/W, perfect for 24-hour surveillance.

* Except for WV-NP240 Series, WV-NF284

DSRT - Digital Slip Ring Transmission

Conventional analog slip ring transmission requires a DA-AD conversion and YC mix/separation process that causes image quality deterioration. It was believed that slip ring throughput is not fast enough to send a digital video signal, which requires 250 Mbps at VGA resolution. Panasonic has solved this problem by using Low Voltage Differential Signaling (LVDS) technology allowing the slip ring to transmit a video signal of up to 500 Mbps. With this technology, Panasonic digital slip ring transmission can transmit a digital video signal without the DA-AD conversion and YC mix/separation. Throughout the process, the signal remains digital resulting in no loss of image quality.

ABF (Auto Back Focus), Focus Assist

The WV-NP1000 Series and the WV-NW484S are equipped with ABF (Auto Back Focus), which automatically adjusts back focus by adjusting the CCD position. ABF can eliminate the time required to manually adjust focus when installing cameras or changing location, lowering installation and maintenance costs. It can also be automatically activated when switching from color to B/W mode or vice versa providing the best focus in each mode. This results in a precise focus 24 hours a day, both during the day and at night. The WVNF302 and WV-NP304 are equipped with a Focus Assist function, which indicates the best focus position by on-screen display so that accurate focus adjustment can easily be made.

DNR (Digital Noise Reduction)

It is necessary to amplify the image signal when capturing images under low light conditions. This, however, causes an increase in noise as well. In the i-Pro Series, 2D-DNR for motion area and 3D-DNR for static area are effectively combined, realizing a clear low noise image with less motion blur and resolution deterioration.

HDMI Video Interface

The WJ-GXD400 Multi Channel High Definition Video Decoder is equipped with a HDMI video interface and can provide 1x XGA (1,280 x 960) image with 2x VGA images in 3 split screen or 6x VGA images in 6 split screen allowing precise identification and multi-screen monitoring. Each VGA image can be displayed at 30 ips so that decisive moments can be monitored.

Auto Image Stabliser

Auto image stabilizer digitally cancels the vibration on image by the advanced digital signal processing, enabling a camera to be installed where vibration or wind is a concern.

(Depending on the model)
